Dr. Rene Buttar

BSc, DMD, MSc, Dip. Endo, FRCD(C)

Certified Specialist in Endodontics

Rene is very passionate about endodontics and is very excited to be able to serve the South Okanagan. He is a longtime resident of Penticton, having graduated from Pen-Hi in 1995. He went onto UBC to complete his Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 in Microbiology/Immunology and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2005. After returning to Penticton to work as a general dentist for 7 years, he decided to return to UBC to further his education. He completed his Master of Science in Craniofacial Science degree and his Diploma in Endodontics in 2015, and now is a Certified Specialist in Endodontics. His research has been published in the Journal of Endodontics and the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association.

He takes pride in using the most modern technology in his practice. This includes the use of the dental operating microscope and cone beam computed tomography.

In his spare time, Rene enjoys spending time with his family at the ski hill or camping, and running around the wonderful trails that are found throughout the Okanagan.
